Snoozing and skipping orders

Customers can easily snooze or skip heir upcoming order with the press of a button. This can be done from the Self Service Center. Or directly from a hotlink in an email.

How does snoozing and skipping work?

Snoozing and skipping applies on all product scheduled to be shipped in the upcoming order moment. Products with a different shipment date than the earliest upcoming order are not impacted.

Customers have two options to postpone their upcoming order:

  • Snooze the upcoming order date for 1 week

  • Skip the next order they would normally get according to their regular order schedule

What if there are products with varying frequencies in the subscription?

If the subscription contains a combination of shipment frequencies, then the product with the smallest frequency is used to skip the next order. For example:

  • Product A with frequency "every 2 weeks" and upcoming shipment date of 30 December 2024.

  • Product B with frequency "every 4 weeks" and upcoming shipment date of 30 December 2024.

  • Product C with frequency "every quarter" and upcoming shipment date of "5 January 2025

When snooze a week is chosen, then Product A and product B's next shipment date will be moved to 6 January 2024 (7 days).

When skip next order is chosen, then Product A and B will both be moved forward 2 weeks to the 13th of January, as this is the smallest frequency (from Product A) in the upcoming order. This makes sure all expected products in the next order are still aligned and are skipped together to the next order moment.

Product C is not impacted because it does not have the same upcoming shipment date as Product A and B.

Enable snoozing and skipping for the My Account

To give your customers the option to snooze or skip their upcoming order:

  1. From the sidebar in Firmhouse Portal go to Settings > Self Service Center.

  2. Scroll down to the Settings area and enable Can snooze and skip orders.

  3. Click Update project.

The snooze and skip options now show up in the Self Service Center and can be included in customer emails.

Add snooze and skip hot-links to emails

You can include the following special hot-link Liquid tags in your email templates or Klaviyo payloads to let your customers immediately snooze or skip their upcoming order straight from their email.

The links immediately open in a special dedicated screens for snoozing and skipping the upcoming order:

There is no need to be logged in to the Self Service Center when clicking these hot-links.

Example email template snippet

The following example would add a "Snooze for a week" link and a "Skip order" to your email. Both links bring the customer immediately into the snooze/skip screens in the Self Service Center.
