In some cases you want to only collect someone's direct debit permission via initial payment of a small amount. For example, if you want someone to sign up but only start their subscription upon delivery of your services or products.

In this case, you don't want any discounts to be applied on this initial payment as would happen by default. Instead, you want a discount or discount code entered to take effect your customer's first real recurring charge.

To do this you can configure per Plan if you want any discounts to be applied on the initial payment.

When creating or editing your Plan enable or disable the Skip discount on the initial payment setting under the Pricing section. If you enable this setting then any automatic discounts or entered discount codes will be skipped for signing up to this Plan.
