Troubleshooting

You've added your custom domain in Airstrip and you've set up your DNS records per the instructions on the settings page. But for some reason it's not working yet and you're starting to pull your hair out. Here are some common troubleshooting hints you can take a look at:

It could take a few hours before your DNS changes are applied
Depending on the default settings at your domain registrar, it could take up to a day before your DNS changes are propagated across the globe. This could be the reason why our system did not pick up your DNS changes yet or that the domain is pointing to your page for some visitors, but not working for others.

Either wait a few hours or check your domain registrar for the Time To Live (TTL) setting on DNS records. Shortening this can speed up DNS propagation.

It can take up 15 minutes before our system to pick up your DNS changes
Once your DNS records are applied and propagated across the world, it takes about 15 to 30 minutes before our system picks them up and connects your pages to your domain. This because in the background we check up on domain name changes every 15 minutes. Once our system has verified that your DNS changes are applied, we will connect it to your custom domain.

Make sure you use "www." or a subdomain in the domain field
We only support domain names with "www." or a subdomain in the custom domain field. We do not support "naked" domains: domains that don't have "www." or a subdomain on front of them.

So make sure you add the full domain name in the custom domain field, including "www." if you want to host the page on your main domain.
