In Airstrip forms you can add several types of questions to ask information from your visitors. Here's an overview of the different types that are available, and what to use them for.
When editing your forms you can find the following overview of the different question types:
1. Short text
Use this question type if you need an open answer from visitors that's max one line. It'll show a small input box on the form:
2. Long text
Use this question type if you need an open answer from visitors that's more than one line. It'll show a large input box on the form:
This question type is specifically for asking your visitors for their email address, and will check if the input provided is a valid email address. If not, it will show an error to the visitor:
Ask for email addresses if you want to be able to get in contact with visitors, for for example follow-up interviewing or testing. It's also a great way to test for commitment: if people are willing to provide their email addresses it's a sign of real interest!
4. Multiple choice
Use this question type if you want to enable visitors to select one or more from a list of options. Use this if you want to enable visitors to indicate what's all applicable to them for example, like what types of vehicles they all own (a car, bike, scooter, etc.).
Note: you cannot make selecting something mandatory for this question!
Use this question type if you want to enable visitors to choose just one option from a list of different ones. Unlike the multiple choice one you can make filling out this question mandatory!
Use this question type when there are several options possible but only one can apply for a visitor at a time (like someone's age, or country of residence).
If you want to have the same functionality as with the drop-down question (visitors being able to select one from a set of options), but you want all the options to be visible at once, you can use the Radio question.
Again, enter the different options you want to display on different lines. They will show up on the form like this:
7. File upload
Use this question type if you'd like visitors to upload a file:
You can for example ask them to upload a CV as part of a selection procedure, or sketches of what they'd like from your service.
8. Confirmation checkbox
Use this question type if you want to have people agree with certain terms & conditions before submitting the form:
This can include for example agreeing with possible follow-up on the form, the information being used for marketing purposes, etc.
