You can define extra fields for your assets. This allows you to store extra information about the asset that you want to keep track of. You could for example keep track of visible damages per asset. Or maybe you want to store when the asset was purchased and added to your stock.

Asset fields can be managed by Project managers only. Regular Team members can change the values of the fields per individual asset.

Adding an asset field

Steps

  1. In your Firmhouse project, go to Assets in the sidebar.
  2. Click Asset fields under the Assets heading in the sidebar.
  3. Click New asset field in the top right.
  4. Give your field a name.
  5. Click Create field.

This field now becomes available when editing assets.

Renaming an asset field

Steps

  1. In your Firmhouse project, go to Assets in the sidebar.
  2. Click Asset fields under the Assets heading in the sidebar.
  3. Click Rename for the field you want to rename.
  4. Update the field's name.
  5. Click Save new name.

The new name will now appear on asset detail pages and on the asset edit pages.

Deleting an asset field

An asset field can be permanently deleted when you have no use for it anymore. Deleting a field will also permanently delete all stored values for that field on individual assets. So make sure you don't accidentally delete an important asset field with all kinds of important information.

Steps

  1. In your Firmhouse project, go to Assets in the sidebar.
  2. Click Asset fields under the Assets heading in the sidebar.
  3. Click Delete for the field you want to delete.
  4. Confirm the field deletion.

The deleted field will not appear on asset detail pages and on the asset edit pages anymore.
